Are there any jobs left?

So I wake up to see that the WSJ has a new story http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123268511212809429.html. Which is my company Wyeth merging with Pfizer. It really is stunning to me and I am quite in shock. I knew something had to happen as my work has been quite slow, but I just didn't see this one. I think it was sort of in the back of my mind, but it was such a foreign possibility I didn't think of it. It seemed like all of the major mergers happened a few years back.

So, Pfizer just recently announced redundancy in it's R & D department. At least I think it will take several months for a deal to be brokered. In the meantime I can just save as much as I can, although I don't know what this will mean to my UK job search. Which my company just told me would not happen. I've posted my CV online. I guess now I'm going to have to start the Level 1 Visa process with a lawyer. Ugh, this really sucks. Fuck.

Well, I guess I knew my position was too good to be true, not to be shaken up a bit! Impermanence is the state of existence, so whatever happens will be a good adventure. Might be time to start selling off some of my yarn stash though!
